Lorenzo Villoresi Teint de Neige

Now I know some would pass up the opportunity to smell all powdery, but there's many who would relish the idea of such an up to snuff perfume. May I say that I'm definitely with the latter.

Teint de Neige described by many as ''an angel's dressing table'' is the bomb when it comes to powdery perfumes. It is the queen of powders. It has even been dubbed ''Chanel 22 without the sophistication.'' Villoresi's own description: "the rosy hue of a powdered face. The unmistakable scent of perfumed powders, the fragrance of face powder, the perfume of talc, a soft, gentle, enveloping eau de toilette. An aroma delicately permeated by the richness of the natural extracts of precious flowers, recalling the light, images and atmosphere of the belle-époque.''

Chandler Burr, a perfume critic for the New Tork Times, is said to have given this a five out of five. I've been searching high and low for a strong, very powdery scent, and I came across this little treasure on Fragrantica's forum. My delight!

The name itself, which I quite like, translates to ''color of snow'' which is very befitting to the white color of powder. With top notes of jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, and sweet, powdery floral notes; a middle note of tonka bean; and base notes of heliotrope, musk and honey. Look at those yummy notes! I think I'll jump in here and say that jasmine, rose and ylang ylang are the notes for the famous J & J Baby Powder. So, if you shudder at the whiff of baby powder, this may not be for you. Having said that, there's a plethora of reviews from people who aren't particularly keen on baby powder but have loved this! So give it a try.

My delight in finding this was dampened (only slightly may I add) when I read that some have declared this as more of a winter perfume. I felt somewhat disappointed that I may not be able to use it all summer long (which I had been longing to). I'm going to holdout and test it. I think it will be a heavenly perfume for me, either way. This could be HG stuff you know! On a side note, I'm looking to build my perfume collection. Starting with summery perfumes and then winter.
